The world of Naruto is similar to feudal Japan. Peace and alliances between country are very unstable.

Each country is probably directed by a lord, the daimyo (they miss practically manga), and has a hidden village, with at its head a leader. It is in the hidden village that concentrates the large majority of the forces ninjas of the country. In other words, it is the hidden village which makes all its power of it (“the power of a country is measured with that of its village, the power of a village to that of its ninjas”, Sandaime Hokage, Examen Chuunin).

The leaders of the five great Ninjas powers carry the title of Kage (”shade”). They are more influential than the daimyos, because it is them which direct the military policy of the country. The daimyos, as for them, seem to direct the saving in their country. It is besides the bad management of Kaze No kuni by its daimyo which led Yondaime Kazekage to be combined in Otogakure to attack Konohagakure, with an aim of rectifying the saving in its country.

Weapons of the Ninja

All the ninjas have a whole a vestimentary code according to their village of origin. It is not always respected by the young ninjas, Genin, but the stringcourse of the village is generally always carried. Here in detail the equipment which ninja of Konoha must carry.

Kunaï

Basic weapon of the ninja, it with the size of a knife. The kunai has the advantage of being useful as much remotely than in close combat. Its control is essential to become a good ninja.

Shuriken

This projectile is a basic weapon of the ninja, generally resembling a star with four branches. Its lightness as its easy handiness make of it the weapon most used remotely. There are some which is Shurilen normal and giant Shuriken (see the illustration)

Shuriken Smoked

Giant Shuriken very heavy and difficult to handle. Some ninjas keep some in reserve but very little uses some regularly. It is a weapon which little to prove devastator when it is well used.

Explosive parchment

These parchments are covered with inscriptions which have the same effect that a bomb with delayed-action. They are very useful for tightening traps because they are discrete and can be used in various way: hung to a kunai, stuck on a branch, posed on the adversary… There are various kinds: some explode after a course moment, others are activated when somebody is in the vicinity, other models make it possible to trap a whole zone by laying out them in square.

Katana

Arm with combat to the body with body requiring a good drive. It with the shape of a slightly bent sword. In spite of its attractive profile, it is not a weapon of choice because it is hard to control correctly.

Bombs

There are 3 types different of bombs used: smoke, gas, and light. The bombs of smoke are mainly used to hide a ninja, to distract enemy, or can be used as tool of escape. The bombs with gas are toxic bombs causing a faintness réspiratoire. The lighting bombs as for them, are employed to plug the adversary or to work out a surprised attack.

Sword Of bone

The Kimimaro ninja is originating in a particular clan thus enabling him to remove bones of its body. This sword is created of a removed bone of its clean corp. It is a reliable weapon since it can become harder than steel.

Dagger

This personal dagger pertaining to Gamabunta, can be used by him or any other powerful ninja which can raise its weight and to move quickly.

Evantaille

Temari uses this évantaille powerful as a primary weapon. This évantaille creates attacks of the type wind devastator. Temari can this serve as this weapon as well for its own defense for the offensive one.

Magic Flute

Used by Tayuya, this flute enables him to control spirits or bodies, like creating frightening illusions.

American fist with blade

This weapon is used by Jounin Asuma. At the same time offensive and defensive in particular against the sabre, the gathering of this fist with will chakra prove to be a combination mortal. The user can prolong its will chakra by the blade, lengthening the length of the blade with the additional end of will chakra. This weapon is very useful in the engagements for the body with body.

Kubikiri Houcho

Used by Zabuza, it is the sword which it all the time carries on him. This large weapon is particularly formed and is enough pointed to cut people in half. Like Kisame, Zabuza obtained this weapon because he is member of the seven epeists of the fog, a group of ninja of elite of the hidden village of the fog. He took this sword with him when he saved the village.

Chuunin Examination

Genin must pass various tests in order to be able to claim under Chuunin during a pitiless examination. In this article, I you will describe of what consists these various tests.

Part 1 - Written test

It is the first part of the examinations. Each Genin individual will obtain a test written with 9 very difficult questions (alleged impossible to answer for normal Genin). The goal of this test is not to examine the intelligence of Genins, but to examine their capacity to obtain various information being necessary to them to answer the question at their adversaries. On each line of their table, Jounin having for goal is placed to catch you on the fraud. If you were seen 3 times on made defraud, it is the direct elimination of the candidate as well as all his team. When the questionnaire is finished, at this point in time the 10th question arrives. Nobody know the question but what the candidates know then, it is that if they do not answer correctly this question they will be of Genins forever.

Part 2 - The Forest of death

Once Iorino Ibiki’s mind test finishes, our apprentices ninjas will then be confronted with Anko’s survival assignment. Each team will obtain a scroll. On the whole there is kind two kind of scrolls: Heaven Scroll and Earth Scroll. The goal of the teams is to gather the two scrolls and meet at a destination. The difficulty of this test comes from made that all is allowed. When the teams obtain the two rollers, they can dice at the time going to the tower located in the middle of the forest. If one of the members of a team dies, the whole team loses. The single rule to be respected at the time of this test is that it is absolutely prohibited to open the scrolls. Many died in this exam! Gaara’s team successfully completed this portion of the exam faster than any other team in all time.

Part 3 - The Tournament

The last part of the examination is a tournament. Much Genins succeeded in passing the test N°2, tournaments preliminary will be thus to organize in order to reduce halves manpower. Will thus be held then, the tournaments or 2 Genin will clash in duels or the rules are non-existent under the eyes of the public and Hokage accompanied by Kazekage. But even if you manage to win the tournament, there’s a chance that you will not be selected to become a chuunin squad leader. So, even if you lose or don’t win all your battles, you still have a chance to become chuunin.

Teams

Arrived at the Genin row, the ninjas are seen distributed in small group of 3 conduits by a tested ninja of Juunin row. At this point in time the training ninja really starts and the beginning of the emotional ties between ninja grow hollow. It is a paramount stage which is very often the primary education factor with the creation of the true way of the ninja!

Team Shodaime - Nidaime

Sensei: Shodaime, Nidaime
Pupils: Homura, Koharu and Sarutobi
Leader: Sarutobi
Village: Konoha
It is the oldest team which is known until now. This team is directed by Shodaime and Nidaime, their pupils are Homura, Koharu and Sarutobi. The members of this team are all the wise ones and valorous ninjas which found their place in the council of Konoha for Homura and Koharu, and on the seat of Hokage for Sarutobi.

Team Sandaime

Sensei: Sandaime
Pupils: Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Tsunade
Leader: Orochimaru
Village: Konoha
It is the team which was most powerful of all the history of Konoha, it is composed of three powerful ninjas of which Kunoichi: Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Tsunade. These are the three ninjas which were appellés later the “Three Sannins Légendaires”. The relation between Jiraiya and Orochimaru strongly points out that between Naruto and Sasuke.

It is only and single the true pupil of Orochimaru. It taught the majority of its techniques to him and also inflicted to him the cursed seal. Since, Anko hates and fears Orochimaru very deeply.

Team Tsunade

Village: Konoha
Tsunade only has the one pupil, just like Orochimaru. She teaches Shizune as a medical-nin, giving Shizune the majority of her medical techniques.

Team Jiraiya

Leader: Yondaime
Village: Konoha
Contrary to both other Sannins, Jiraiya had three pupils, of which Yondaime which will be regarded as most powerful of all Hokage.

Team Yondaime

Leader: Kakashi
Village: Konoha
A team directed by famous Yondaime, comprising Kakashi, a model of rigour, Obito, awkward Uchiha, and Rin, a kunoichi doctor. This team appears during the saga Kakashi Gaiden.

Team Shikato (InoShikaCho trio)

Members: Homura, Koharu and Sarutobi
Leader: Sarutobi
Village: Konoha
The famous trio of Juunin, InoShikaCho. They are the parents of Ino, Shikamaru and Choji.

Konohamaru division

Sensei: Iruka (their professor with the academy) and Naruto
Pupils: Konohamaru, Udon and Moegi
Leader: Konohamaru
Village: Konoha
A group of student comrades to the academy formed by Konohamaru who are never left and liked “to play” ninja. Naruto is their model.

Team n°7

Sensei: Kakashi
Pupils: Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke
Leader: Sasuke
Village: Konoha
It is the principal team of the history, it is composed of the young receptacle of the demon fox: Naruto, the most unforeseeable ninja of the village, Sasuke, the survivor of the Uchiha clan, and Sakura, which is not used to tell the truth for nothing, as well as famous Hatake Kakashi, the ninja copier. There is a strong competition between Naruto and Sasuke, but which later will be transformed into a rather complex friendship.

Team n°8

Sensei: Kurenai
Pupils: Hinata, Kiba and Shino
Leader: Shino
Village: Konoha
Team neutral comprising good ninjas coming from 3 different clans, the Hyuuga clan, the Inuzuka clan and the Aburame clan. The agreement in this group is rather serene, with Kiba share which is caught for the leader! This team is directed by Kurenai.

Team n°10

Sensei: Asuma
Pupils: Shikamaru, Ino and Chôji
Leader: Shikamaru
Village: Konoha
Veiled rising generation of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio. Having for sensei Asuma, this team really does not seem to like the life of Ninja: Chôji which eats all the time, Ino which never fights and finally Shikamaru which would like to be free like the clouds, in spite of its intelligence: more than 200 of Q.I!

Team Merry

Sensei: Merry
Pupils: Neji, Lee Rock’n'roll and Tenten
Leader: Neji
Village: Konoha
Team specialized in Taijutsu and directed by Gai, composed of two rivals, Rock Lee and Neji. The favorite pupil of the Merry one is Lee, although exceptionally gifted Neji of the Hyuuga clan is present, just like Kakashi with Sasuke. But it is not all, Gai is also the rival eternal of Kakashi. This team is one year old by rappot with the other teams of genins of Konoha.

Team Baki

Sensei: Baki
Pupils: Gaara, Temari and Kankurô
Leader: Gaara
Village: Suna
A powerful team of Suna No kuni which leaves the ordinary one. Indeed, Gaara, the child-demon, east fears by all the members of the team: Temari, his/her sister, Kankurô, her brother, and even Baki, them sensei! At the enemies beginning of Konoha, they will become thereafter of invaluable allied, since they will save Shikamaru, Kiba and Lee in their engagements against the Four of the Sound.

Team Orochimaru (Chuunin Examination)

Sensei: Orochimaru (another appearance)
Pupils: Zaku, Dosu and Kin
Leader: Dosu
Village: Oto
Genins of Oto No kuni which would tend to do “every man for himself”, but the fact that they are on mission for Orochimaru, that they respect and fear, weld them. Nevertheless they seem accustomed to act together and support themselves. Even if they are ready with the sacrifice of the one of them for the good of the mission. The styles of engagements of the members of the team are very particular: Produced Dosu of the extremists sounds with his metal arm, Kin reaches the inner ear of its adversaries with its small bell, and Zaku causes gusts of wind thanks to openings in its palms. The attitude of Orochimaru towards them is far from being enviable for them: they are simple puppets; besides it will sacrifice Kin and Zaku for ressuciter Shodaime and Nidaime in its combat against Sandaime.

Team Kabuto (Chuunin Examination)

Sensei: Jounin not named (probably an underling of Orochimaru)
Pupils: Yakushi Kabuto, Akado Yoroi and Tsurugi Misumi
Leader: Yakushi Kabuto
Village: Konoha (Oto actually)
Ninjas of Oto No kuni being made pass for genins of Konoha during the Chuunin examination. Their sensei is Orochimaru, having taken another appearance. Their participation in the Chuunin examination consisted in fact to raise on charts of information on the various ninjas passing the examination. Kabuto meaning “helmet” (samuraï), Tsurugi “sword” and Yoroi “armour”, they form the trio “helmet-sword-armour”.

The brothers Demons

Sensei: None
Members: Gôzu and Meizu
Village: Kiri
Two chuunins of Kiri to the pay of Zabuza, charged to eliminate team 7 and Tazuna at the time of its mission to the countries from the Waves. Kakashi Sasuke will take care of them without difficulty. They fight by having each one in one of their hands a metal glove which holds the end of a poisoned cutting chain.

Duet Zabuza - Haku

Members: Zabuza and Haku
Leaders: Zabuza
Village: Kiri
Zabuza and Haku, Nukenins de Kiri No kuni, form a frightening duet. Indeed, their force lies above all in the bonds which link them. Besides Haku is entirely devoted to Zabuza and will give its life to save its Master of Chidori de Kakashi, bus Zabuza is that which had collected it, orphan, whereas it only wandered in Kiri. This is why Haku thinks that it owes him the life.
They will die finally coast at coast, on the Naruto bridge.

Team Shikamaru

Members: Choji, Kiba, Naruto, Neji and Shikamaru
Leader: Shikamaru
Village: Konoha
It is this team which will have the role of bringing back Sasuke, but on their way they will be confronted with dangerous adversaries with the pay of Orochimaru!

Team Shikamaru

Members: Kimimaro, Tayuya, Sakon/Ukon, Kidoumaru and Jiroubou
Leader: Kimimaro
Village: Oto
Terribly powerful team and without-thank you, under the cut of Orochimaru. Although being chuunins, they succeed in holding head in certain Anbus de Konoha at the time of the attack of the village of the Sheet by Oto No kuni. They carry all the seal of Orochimaru. Their mission consisted in capturing Sasuke, coveted by Orochimaru for its Sharingan. While returning in Oto with the Uchiha young person, they are caught up with by the Shikamaru team in the forest, giving place to 5 terrible duels. The genins helped by the genins of Suna will be right finally of them, but not without evil (all except for Shikamaru will finish at the hospital, in critical states).

Attention, the following teams correspond to season 2 of the manga. The continuation of the file thus contains spoilers, not to traverse if you did not read season 2 of the manga!

Team Kakashi (season 2)

Members: Kakashi, Naruto and Sakura
Leader: Kakashi
Village: Konoha
This team is made up to carry help in Suna No kuni, attacked by Deidara and Sasori, members of Akatsuki. They have the role of saving Gaara, the Kazekage young person, and for that will be accompanied by Chiyo Baa (”Oba chan”), the grandmother of Sasori. The vacuum caused by the absence of Sasuke will be felt terribly.

Team Yamato

Sensei: None
Members: Yamato, Naruto, Sakura and Saï
Leader: Yamato
Village: Konoha
It is the altered Kakashi team. Their mission is to discover the spy of Akatsuki infiltrated at Orochimaru and to capture it to bring back it to Konoha. Their secondary objective is to obtain information on Orochimaru and Sasuke. The mission is a failure. The aversion of Naruto for Saï was the cause, at the beginning, of an execrable environment within the team. But finally, helped by Sakura, it succeeds in making change radically the ninja of “”, making them a really welded team.

Gaara Techniques

Gaara has the power to control the sand and thanks to the Shukaku the sand protects to him automatically by means of the Sand Shield (???). Nevertheless, this disables to Gaara to use Taijutsu. Gaara always takes a pumpkin (they hyotan) to its back that, instead of water, is full of sand mixed with the blood of its enemies and harnessed with chakra. Although Gaara can control any sand and to even create sand from minerals of the ground, controls with greater facility the sand of its pumpkin. With this sand their attacks are faster and powerful.

All the techniques of Gaara are based on the sand and, although the majority is of defense and attacks, also have other abilities, like floating in the air or to spy. In combat, Gaara usually combines the Coffin of the Desert (???) followed of the Funeral of the Desert (????), that locks up and presses to the enemy until killing it. Although most of its attacks they are of limited reach, Gaara is able to make damage with its Avalanche of the Desert (????).

The main defense of Gaara is the Sand Shield (???). This shield protects to him of any contingency, even against its will, but it is possible to be won to him combining speed with force. If its Sand Shield fails to him, still it can resort to his Sand Armor (???), that consists of a very compact sand layer that surrounds its body, but this technique requires the use of a great amount of chakra.

Gaara Kazekage

Gaara (known as Sabaku no Gaara or Gaara of the Sand/Desert) is a fiction character from anime and manga Naruto.

Gaara’s life according to him, is summarized in killing all who stands in his way, without worrying or caring about his actions. He feels pleasure in the death and suffering he brings to other peoples lives - “I love only myself and fight only for myself” is a quote often used by Gaara. However later after a battle with Naruto, Gaara has a sudden change of heart and appears to help and care for people, being able to understand love and risking his life for others if necessary.

Gaara is the youngest brother of Temari and Kankurou, and former-integrant of the Baki team, trained by ninja Baki. Born in Sunagakure, Gaara lost his mother in the childbirth after he was implanted with Shukaku (a one tailed Jinchuuriki), creating a symbiotic relation with Shukaku. Gaara’s father was the Kazekage and Gaara was raised by his uncle, Yashamaru. However when the Kazekage decided to assassinate Gaara since he was scared by the amount of power that Gaara had possessed. Gaara received that his father only created him to obtain the high present level of chakra within his body. The Kazekage ordered Yashamaru, to kill Gaara.

His uncle attacked him, but without knowing who the assassin was, Gaara killed him. When he liberated all the hatred accumulated in its mind, Gaara establishes its chakra with Shukaku, allowing to control it and the sand, becoming very powerful. From this point on, Gaara came to the conclusion that he could preserve and confirm his own existence by killing anyone and all who challenged him, securing an extreme form of existentialism as his key personality trait.

Gaara helped in the attacking of Konoha. His main mission was to awake the bijuu inside of him during the third phase of the chuunin exam. His mission almost failed while trying to fight Rock Lee in the preliminary rounds. The fight was mostly all Gaara until Lee gained the advantage. The use of two taijutsu, Renge and Omote Renge severely damaged Rock Lee and in the end Gaara managed to break his arm and leg. Passing his way into the next phase of the exam. His next match was against Uchiha Sasuke which he had waited for.

Gaara tried to understand his feelings but wanted to finish Rock Lee off but was hindered bu Nara Shikamaru and Uzumaki Naruto. Gaaras’ next match was against Sasuke but the match was delayed since Sasuke had a late return but eventually he arrived and they both fought. Using Chidori, Sasuke broke Gaaras’ ultimate defence system which started to awake the Shukaku. During the match the konoha attack started but Gaara had to retreat because of his state. Sasuke followed him however Gaara had now finally transformed into the beast and knocked Sasuke out. Naruto and Sakura arrived on the scene. Gaara had trapped Sakura and Naruto promised to save them both so he summoned a giant frog and defeated Gaara.

Gaara with the motivation from Naruto decided to change. He understood what true love really is and will help the next time around. He decides to help Naruto and the team in a konoha rescue mission. Gaara finds that Rock Lee is fighting Kaguya Kimimaro, almost dying but Gaara comes as protection and battles Kimimaro.

In the manga, Gaara has become the Kazekage and becomes a lot stronger. He is later attacked by one of the Akatsuki members, Deidera. Gaara saves his village from being destroyed in return he sacrifices himself. Gaara is captured by the Akatsuki and have removed the Shukaku inside of him. After this process Gaara is dead but Chiyo uses a reincarnation technique to bring Gaara back to life in exchange for her life. Gaara wakes up and sees all his team mates, Naruto and his family around, they all return back to the village after some strong words from both Naruto and Gaara.

Gaara’s Force

Before Gaara’s mother died, she put him in a curse because of the amount of pain Gaara had put her through while giving her birth. This curse enabled Gaara never to feel pain or get hurt and the sand would always protect him. With the ability of the bijuu, Gaara can manipulate sand as his techniques are based on sand. Gaara has a ultimate defence system, if anyone tries to hurt Gaara, the sand will automatically protect him, if by any chance this is bypassed he has a second defence which is a layer of sand which surrounds his body masking it. You cannot see it until it has been hit several times. Gaara is feared by all and his bijuu is monstrous.

Gaara vs Yashamaru

Gaara makes its first combat against Yashamaru which had been obliged to kill Gaara under the order of Kazekage. Gaara gains this combat easily by using Sabaku Kyuu and keep silent Yashamaru.

Gaara vs Genins de Ame No kuni

With the Chuunin examination, Gaara and its team, to pass the first test, were to take a roller and to go in the center of the forest of death to join a tower. They were confronted with of Genins de Ame No kuni which seemed strong. They launched umbrellas in the air and made them turn thus making rain of the needles (of let us senbons) on their adversaries. But Gaara did not have no need to be driven because its sand shield protects it automatically. It killed them then easily.

Gaara vs Rock Lee

For the third test of the Chuunin examination, or rather during the preliminaries, Gaara was to fight against Genin de Konoha: Lee rock’n'roll. The combat was harder than it did not think bus Rock Lee had a force and an extraordinary speed. First of all, Gaara seemed to have advantage but, when Rock Lee removed the weights which were fixed on its legs, it appeared faster than ever. Sand did not manage any more to follow the astonishing speed of Rock’n'roll Lee, this one so fast that it was successful to strike Gaara. It was the first time that Gaara was wounded, because sand usually automatically protects it from all the physical attacks. After having again touched Gaara, Rock Lee made him Omote Renge (initial lotus, which made large damage) to transpierce the sand armour of Gaara, but unfortunately for Lee, Gaara left his armour and téléporta to the outside. Rock Lee opened then Doors of Chakra (which increases its power considerably to him) and made Ura Renge (Ultimate lotus, very large damage). Gaara which been able to protect itself thanks to its earthenware jar which had been transformed into sand. Finally Gaara made “Sabaku Kyuu” which touched only the leg and the left arm of Lee. Merry, the Master of Lee, stopped the combat to save his favorite disciple.

Gaara vs Uchiwa Sasuke

For the third test of the Chuunin examination, Gaara was confronted with Uchiwa Sasuke. It was a combat very awaited by all the public one. At the beginning of this combat both genins were shown of equal force, but Gaara made a technique which it had kept secret: it was locked up in a very hard sand ball and tackled interior. Sasuke made Chidori, technique which it had just learned thanks to the drive from Kakashi, and transpierced the sand ball. But this ball so hard that it could touch only the shoulder of Gaara. Suddenly the war between the villages started, Temari carried Gaara in the forest to look after it but Sasuke found it. Erudite Sasuke although it could not use the chidori more than 2 times, tried to touch Gaara (which started to be transformed into Shukaku) second once, but the seal of orochimaru awoke and it due to stop the combat.

Gaara vs Naruto

Naruto came to the rescue from Sasuke. To the beginning of the confrontation, Naruto did not carry out any broad, Gaara was turned over then towards sasuke but will sakura put between them to protect sasuke. Gaara have a crisis and remembered its childhood, its painful moments and wondered why she wanted to so much protect the beings which are expensive to them. Gaara carried out a technique to fall asleep, which made it possible Shukaku to entirely take possession of its body, it launched powerful balls of winds and Gamabunta countered them with water balls. Gamabunta called to Naruto to transform it into something which has hooks and claws so that it can cling to Shukaku so that Naruto can awake Gaara. They disappeared both after having touched the ground.

Gaara vs Kimimaro

Many later, Gaara and its team go to the rescue of Genins de Konoha ordered by Shikamaru. The latter had the role of finding Sasuke but they fell on Ninjas from Oto No kuni, the village of the sound. Gaara comes to assistance of Lee, and one whom been able to see that the mentality of Gaara had completely changed. Now he did not want to kill everyone any more. At this point in time Kimimaro changed thanks to the seal of orochimaru, attacked Gaara and touched it. Kimimaro removed its spinal column to make a sword of it. It enclosed Gaara and Lee with his tail but sand protected them. Kimimaro then manufactured a lance on its arm but Gaara called upon a made giant sand shield. Gaara inserted then Kimimaro with 200 meters of depth. Kimimaro which been able to escape from it but Gaara and Lee did not know anything of it. Those Ci thought that the combat was finished. Kimimaro attacked them by surprised but he died suddenly because of his disease of blood.

Gaara vs Members of the Akatsuki

Members of the akatsuki want Gaara for the demon Itchibi (a tail, the shukaku) as for naruto the kyuubi (nine tails). It east will deidara which will attack the village of Suna by the airs: it uses special jutsus, and makes leave the birds and the spiders explosives by a kind of mouth which is in the palm of its hand. First of all, it infiltrated the village easily by killing three guards with 3 explosive spiders. But Gaara appeared in front of it and attacked it. It flew away in the airs with sand. As it was in its village which is surrounded by deserts, there are tons of sand at its disposal: it made a great sand tidal wave and made leave 3 arms the shukaku to attack it and encircled. But the adversary sent 2 birds even faster which sank on Gaara. This one was protected by forming its ball from sand with the third eye to see with the outside. Then it made a new technique: Sabakurou (sand prison), the purpose of which is to lock up its enemy in sand. But Deidara escaped from it. However it was bus Gaara too late made him Sabaku Sousou which broke an arm with the member of the akatsuki. Deidara, without Gaara realizing some had put clay in its sand to him.
